But first, let's have some tea - a slow morning

Thursday, August 3, 2017

God morgon, allihoppa! I don't know about you, but this rainy summer makes me long for autumn and so the first thing I do in the morning, is slipping into my woolen socks and making some tea. Tea has something so calming and it makes me feel so much more conscious about every single day if I take some time to breathe and wake up after getting out of bed. I like to make some lists in my mind of things I have to do during the day, breathe in the fresh morning air and just enjoy a slow morning. This tea by Nord-T Artic Teas I've got from a Finnish friend as a farewell gift. It's called "Polar Night Cap" and is a mixture of rooibus with sea buckthorn and birch leaf. The tea looks so delicious with its whole fruits and smells very autumnly.

I enjoy the slow mornings at my window, watching the sunrise and the earth awakening, it gives me energy for the day. Hopefully soon in the future, I can grow my own herbs and fruits to make some tea. Until then I will enjoy this one and wish for the colder seasons to come soon. I hope you have a wonderful day! How do you like to spend your mornings? Love - M.

  1. I loved this posts and especially the photos!
Here in Brazil we are in the winter, so it's very cold when I wake up. I like to have some hot coffee, but I'm not a morning person and I just do what I have to do and wait for my body really wake up.

    2. Michelle, this was a beautiful thing to read and just what I needed today! In the mornings I like to be the first one awake in the house, just as the sun is rising with my windows open to hear the birds singing their songs, and the smell of fresh bread baking at the bakery just behind our house. I put on relaxing music or a podcast to listen to while I stretch, and the head downstairs to make myself a cup of tea or coffee to enjoy with breakfast in my little sunroom overlooking the street outfront of our home <3

  2. But first a cup of tea...also for me! (;-)

My wake up is with a glass of water. Then a bowl of porridge with lots of cinnamon and some berries and a big cup of loose green tea. And that all!

We have currently rainy days as well in Copenhagen...

    God fornøjelse

  3. It has been raining alot here too. (Belgium) 🇧🇪 it sort of makes me feel sad, because everything turns Grey.. but the fresh air in the mornings and waking up because of rain dropping on the roof is almost as enjoyable as the first rays of sunlight and some morning dew .. 😊 In hope you enjoyed your tea.

    1. Many rainy days in a row can be a little bit upsetting but since I am not such a sun-person, I adore those misty grey days sometimes. Like you already said the sound of the rain on the roof is so very atmospheric <3

      Lots of love to you,
      Michelle

  4. It depends on the day actually, in the important and busy days, I eat eggs! Or tea with sugar, and bread with cheese! But in ordinary days I drink milk (with chocolate usually) and a peice of cake.
And there are some dreamy mornings in cold days that i make hot chocolate or cappuccino and i sit beside the window while I'm wearing my wool socks, and watching the rain or snow falling with a book ready to be read. (which i really miss cause it's summer here, too.)
Hope you enjoyed your good looking cup of tea! :)
